yeah yesterday was dentist, today is optometrist and i have nothing inherently wrong with me, still gotta get that stupid tb test thing in 2 weeks time bleh, waste of time lol i don't have tb how can i?

anyway so this morning i woke up at 830 and the appointment was at 9 so i quickly did my thing and left the house. i got there at 8 50 and there was no one there. hmmm weird. anyway so i waited around and he come out and lets me in at 5 to, there wasn't a receptionist, it looked dodgy at first, quite quite dodgy.

he acted as the receptionist and then he brought me into the place where they have teh eye test. it stated out normally enough but then he started doing all these tests i've never heard of, like this air shooting in your eye as you stare at a green flashing light, testing glocoma or something, not sure how to spell that. he also tested my retina by looking at it while i stared at a corner, i was trying not to laugh cos it was so awkward for me cos he was so close and staring at my eye, but it was completely normal to him :P

then there was this red line test where he asked if it was straight through the middle of a light and he measureed my reading length, looked at each eye depth perception and looked at the darkness of certain strips of black paint or something anyway that was new

then he did the old look at the thing, which is better 1 or 2, that took like 2 minutes or something :P

so altogether the test took about 40 minutes, insane! so long

then he started talking to me about different materials and coating for the glasses and other things that you can put on to reduce uv or glare or the materials so the scratches aren't as common, so i basically picked the best of everything for the lenses and picked quite a good pair of frame, so it cost 515 all up and that was with him not charging everything or it'd be 555, so he gave me a further discount for being a student, and then NIB paid 140 so i had 345 out of pocket, i chucked it on my card and it felt good cos i wasn't handing him cash hahahaha even though he was still getting money :P

all up the trip to the optometrist took 2 hours, great fun :D

i went home and enjoyed the company of my laptop and its ability for me to talk to my friends and also entertain me

did some chem, not nearly as much as i did yesterday

had roast dinner, love roast dinner but before was better, the chicken's skin was soooo crispy and yummy now its jsut yummy :P

Thomas goes to the dentist

It was a very bright and sunny day and that combined with the sound of an incessant alarm sound prompted the young man to rouse from his sleep but it was not enough to prompt him to get out of bed. that came 10 minutes later when his family friend quietly whispered
'Thomas, you have to get out of bed, you have a dentist appointment in 40 minutes'

This was enough to get him out of bed despite his only having 7 and a half hours of sleep.

breakfast consisted of some lo han ko - sweet black liquid that is boiled from something round and hard, it can also be bought in cube form :D and some fettucini from last night.

so after brushing his teeth thoroughly, he didn't want the dentist to think that a dental student has grubby teeth, that just doesn't make sense, its non sensical, the very idea is ludicrous.

so then he walked up the road, up the steep hill toward 7 waterton street.

The dental clinic actually looked like a business despite the outside looking like a residential property. inside the receptionist greeted him by his name and he filled in a personal detail and medical history form, there wasn't much to it.

he then followed the dental assistant to the dental chair where he sat down and watched sunrise, this was probably the first time he'd seen it, he wasn't a early waker and when he did wake up early, it was not to watch tv by any means.

so then he talked to the dentist for a bit and revealed his true identity as a dental student, the dentist had graduated form uq in 1975 so he was more than double Thomas's age.

First up, he had a check up, nothing to report, his teeth were fine but there was crowding in the front. second item on the agenda, i had some bitewing x-rays done, my first ever :D. it showed that i had impacted wisdom teeth, one on the brink of eruption but it cant because it is impacted and the second one showed another impacted wisdom tooth but not to the same extent because it is nowhere near the same extent of eruption but i think it is also impacted

so then it came to paying the bill

nooo i forgot to put that 100 bucks in my wallet this morning but yeah...it was ok cos i had some money on debit card and some cash and NIB so yeah. it was 141 but then NIB gave 78 and then i got an awesome discount which i am not too sure why i got it so i had to pay just under 50 dollars, so that's alright esp since i got 2 x rays hehehe

so then i went back home and slept, for 2 hours or an hour and a half. i then played some starcraft, helped auntie susan and had lunch before i got into this awesome chem working mood and just worked, finishing 4 quizzes...well most of them anyway, still got sonya's and elaine's left :P

will do it tomorrow morning.

oh i don't remember if i said so but i couldn't take the tb test because i had a vaccine 2 weeks ago so i will go to get that another day. hopefully...

ummmmmmmm yeah that's all that happened today, watching glee atm and also gonna watch house then do some more work after that :D

Sunnybank was sunny and cloudy and rainy all in a day

so today began normally enough but i got a few phonecalls in the morning



the first came at 7 40 with the receptionist for the dentist telling me that i had an appointment tomorrow...so early.. wlel tomorrow 8am dental appointment, good to force mysef to wake up :P



the second one came at 9 30 with the optometrist telling me that i could come on thursday at 9 am so that means the next2 days i'll wake up early



so i went to the dental school today to get the tb test and i filled in the form...only to find out i was inelligible because i had the rubella shot only a few days-2 weeks ago. so that was a bummer, i have to do it in my own time booo



so anyway i waited around and i kid you not we went in 20 mins later we went out and it was cloudy, then after that the stupid weather became worse, we shouldn't have gone to the library. All the factors accumulated, for example elaine coming late, helen doing her rc etc made us get caught in the rain and as a result get splashed by the car - sorry sonya



that however is a funny story :P



we walked down the stairs and saw the rain start....so i shared sonya's umbrella since i didn't bring anything with me aside from keys, wallet and phone. so anyway i was talking and walking backwards or something and didn't see the car come, sonya yelled and i was like whaat? and the car splashed us....that wasn't cool it was funny cos in that situation all you can do is laugh...except sonya who kept half angrily giving me looks cos i didn't get out of the way.



anyway jenny and elaine got a little wet as well but they didn't complain :P the water wasn't really that dirty but i was gonna go home anyway, i ended up not going home because by the time i got to the bus station saw i had to wait 22 minutes and also i was half dry.



so we went to sunnybank for hope of better weather.



it wasn't pouoring when we got there, light sprinkle but later it did rain, we were under shelter so that was alright and when we had lunch, it was sunny in sunnybank



ok lets go through what we dido



i went to buy some boxes for aunty susan, went to the reject shop asian shop for some snacks, got some awesome almond cakes and those mamee noodles hehehehehe



had ramen which was quite nice, full all day cos i snacked all day and couldn't eat that much dinner :P



did a lot of browsing and was introduced to the concept of mycube...which has a lot of random random stuff, went into homewares and kmart :P



in kmart, ben and i were playing with a vortex and i got shooshed down by an old asian lady for throwing the vortex in the store :P



so after a while we decided to go home cos it was like 4 20 and all our feet were tired, great day though, i had lots of fun :D



and guava juice is nice hehehe

so yesterday we had lots of fun :D

firstly i met up with elaine at the dent school at 11 and we went to buy some stuff...for lunch i thought i'd have a pie cos i half thought we were in a rush....we weren't spending nearly an hour and a half on lunch after meeting up with ben and helen hahaha

so i got ripped off at 7/11 but oh well

went to bioscience library and work on jenny's card, ate ice cream and watchedmost of salt before my laptop died...guess i shouldn't have used laptop earlier hahahaha

found a use for imitation leaf gold, the glitter gel stays runny for far too long and the car isn't overdone, it looked pretty good to begin with :P...now for the writing part of it :D

Robina

so today i went to robina for about 6 hours, robina is past the gold coast i think...or part of gold coast passt surfer's paradise

so we went and picked up aunty susan's father to take him out and we went and looked at shops or rather aunty susan and aunty lizzie went to look at clothes and uncle mark and i sat outside :P

i can say that david jones is having 30% off almost everything, witchery has a men's section which had up to 60% off items...it wasn't actually that cheap :P and there were lots of sales in general, gosh the gold coast is so much better for shopping than the city :P

for lunch we had a blend of things, i had some pizza, sushi, wedges and salad, awesome eh?

also had this awesome chocolate brownie and some waffles from roger bennet chocolate bar :D it was sooo rich and yummy hehehehe

recharged my phone today

slept on the way home and now i am going to do a few hours of chem, time to learn! :D

so anyway today was an interesting day i was away with the fairies for a lot of the time, daydreaming about midsem break.

so i went to uni and forgot my keys but i doubled back and got them, missing a bus but getting my keys - more important

got to dent school just in time, i was maybe 20 seconds late or so but that's alright close enough :D

lost terribly at foosball...and i mena terribly was up 6-1 then lost hahahahaha 6-10 other games were similar :P

gary has left now :( he however gave me a departing gift of working a bit on my assessment heheheh awesome eh?

ummm my drilling is awesome :D and my cavity filling abilities are pretty awesome :D

i however did stuff something up, i accidently put the amalgam out and assumed there was none in the capsule, how noob of me :P i did finish quite early since they told us we wouldn't finish on time, i went zooooooooooooom hehehe

lunch was funny cos i ate lots of food quickly :D

after i left the dent school with the intention of playing starcraft i bumped into irene and we talked for maybe 40 mins before i went home and carried out my intention. it got boring cos i kept losing and it was stupid how i kept losing so i got bored and it was boring.

that's about it today, didn't go happy hour, probably should have :( i'll go to the next one :D

Woot washing washed

So today was the day which my washing got done. if you remember the weekend, you would remember the wetness, well today was forecasted for cloudy and it was actually sunny in the morning, iun fact that is what woke me up and it told me to do my washing so i did my washing and it is done and its done and now i have 15 undies instead of 4 :P

ummm so the morning was a bit rushed cos i had to do my washing, which got done cos i did my washing in the morning cos it was a washing day to do my washing so i washed my washing.

hehehe

umm went to uni and walked in the lecture theatre..saw about 15 people, assumed i had gone in the wrong room or something...walked out, called ben he wasn't coming, so wasn't helen or sonya *gasp! so i went in and the room filled in over the next 10 minutes, til about 6 past 11, i suppose since it is the last chem lecture before midsem break that is sort of an excuse but not really i don't think oh well!

so then jenny came, good thing she did or we wouldn't have been able to do the group assignment if she forgot :P so after chem we went to get our papers and i got 17/30 :D that might sound crap but i did barely any study so yeah! i'm so pro, i love how i got a mark for writing no, that was completely joke answer and i got a mark for it :D:D

so we did the chem group work and i led the way in the battle against movement! so i pulled out 4 different coloured highlighters and highlighted away, that was fun. we read the report out loud and it wasn't awkward at all, because we all used our professional reading voices, the voices whcih are super annoying if you talk in it to someone with :D

so we did that for an hour, jenny ate while i read and i ate while haowen and jenny ate, i had a lot more food muhahahaha. so we made all the corrections needed and decided to add a bit more so that is what we did. the adding and formatting and stuff took another 3 hours, whcih jenny went home for :P

i spent an hour looking for the reference for the diagram i had found, i gave up and just used google images to find another image which wasn't as good but it was alright i suppose.

ummmmmmmmzzzzz then played form facebook games before coming home. yeah that was my day, hope you had a good day too oh loyal blog follower helen :P

35% exam today

So today I had the exam but more on that later.

First i got up a bit late...rather i had to print notes so i was a bit late, i wasn't actually late in the end, i came before ben helen and sonya so yeah, not late :P

was thinking of skipping to study but nahhhhhhh

so the lecture was on PAIN and it was interesting at first but i dunno seemed really boring...the lecturer wasn't boring though i think it was just the subject especially since it was because she talked about the same stuff or seemingly the same stuff over and over

anyway after that, i actually felt sleepy in that lecture i even had to open my tin of cream wafers :P it was delicious though hehehe and everyone enjoyed it :D Also the chem lecture was boring,it was a repeat of the stuff we did on monday

so then it was the tute which i dunno i did some chem but then everyone else was studying so i distracted them alll :P i also did study and it was so stupid because the final thing i asked them was in the exam but i had forgotten what the answer was oh well

i am also pretty sure i got a few things wrong because i was was trying to figure it out using my own teeth and then i think i got it wrong..sigh

oh well that is liuke 3% i've lost

gotta do some chem cos it is due in a couple of days. then plan for mid sem break wooooooot. even though its short, it'll be sweet, gosh can't wait for 5 years time :D

Thinking about being a tute leader

Basically this made my day :P i opened my email and i saw that i could become a tute leader, hahah how awesome, 35 bucks an hour, max of 2 hours a week so its like 400 bucks a semester for i dunno how much work i'd need to do

i don't know if i should apply because next year is supposed to be quite hard so i probably won't unless a couple other dent people apply

today i left early and forgot to do my resturant city :(.i am really lost in lab but pretty alright in pre clinic which is good because we get like 10 hours for lab but like 2 hours for pre clinic.

ummm test tomorrow so i am off to study!

One of those days

so today i woke up to a message from sonya saying i'm not going and i thought hmmm wonder who is going, prolly no one so i thought perhaps i shouldn't go, its raining outside and i don't really want to go. but guess what, i went to chem anyway :D

i grabbed lunch etc and jumped on the bus. then i changed buses cos i didn't feel like walking too much, i caught the 120 and got off at buranda to get on a 139 or 169...except they were late...15 minutes late. i sat there and thought...gonna be late...great

i wasn't late, in fact i was 20 seconds early! peered around and saw as i'd predicted, no one there...in fact about 10 dent students, wow we are so studious eh?

so after the lecture, i went to the library and basically did inflammation and pulpitis over 3 hours or something, lots of lying on my arm cos i was tired...something about that library that makes you tired or maybe it is the studying thing, so then i went home. gotta do the diseases and the ashman lecture.

not much happening today, maybe tomorrow will be better, lets hope so.

so i don't have to blog later :D

well today was pretty dodgy, should have done som washing...it would have mostly dried and i could have left it in my room after, shall have to do some underwear and socks wahing some time this week

there is dilemna...what are we gonna do tomorrow cos there is only an hour of chem and i have an exam and stuff to do for the chem assignment, so yeah not 100% sure...hmmmm

we went carindale and i bought some shampoo :D that took 2 hours and i was tired after :P

had some bacon and eggs for lunch like every sunday, erm...been reading bio textbook for immunology cos it is quite good for that :D shall do 1050 notes, got through half of it so far, only another half and then reading it :D

Toowoomba

so today we spent most of the day in toowoomba.

basically we didn't do anything until about 12 when the parade was on and it was an awesome parade :D

so i woke at 6 15 today and was out of the house by 7 and we drove and drove

got there walked around and i got some goodies :D

had lunch and watched the float, attempted to look for the floral gardens but failed...it seems they dug it all up this year...fail!

we bought some farm fresh produce so that should be good :D

made my own dinner today and a tribute to elaine, i had cabbage...as like 1/10 of my meal :P

End of the week

Normally the end of the week is significant for some reason because it marks the beginning of the weekend, funny word that :P its the end of the week

well i always look forward to the weekend for no reason but this weekend i think will be jam packed just like this week sort of has been. I have tos tudy for 1050, go toowoomba spring festical tomorrow so i have to wake at 6 30 better go sleep soon...before 11 30 :D

can't do my washing til next saturday....may need to purchase new underwear :P

ummm yeah in general i think its mainly going to be 1050 and some chem work.

So today was quite an interesting day :P

So i woke up at quarter past 9 and left the house by quarter past 10, could probaly have left half an hour earlier but there wasn't really a point especially because i later found out no one was gonna be there :P

i found the lecture was quite good today both for DENT 1011 and chem so it was worth it :D

anyway the chem lecture i sat next to terry since ben, helen, jenny, sonya and elaine all decided not to come to the one hour session - booooooo

so afterwards, brisbane jenny, silvia and someone with a name starting with s and i went on the 109 to go to the city. just before the bus left, jenny's friend alisa and her boyfriend i can't remember his name - i don't even think i was introduced to him :P jumped on the bus hehe found out jenny (AND HELEN) have pools at their place so pool party in the spring -its spring now...POOL PARTY, just joking, i shall have to crash one day... :D

ermmm well since ben, jenny and helen weren't picking up...did i call helen i don't remember...i followedbrisbane jenny and silvia around, they went to tree of life which was filled with girl stuff :P i was only in there for a few minutes before ben called - i missed that but called him back 4 minutes later. so then i met up with ben and helen in the chocolate shop...needless to say i bought some chocolate :P a strawberry prailine and some melted belgian chocolate with marshmellows - YUM :D:D

after that helen decided to go buy some clothes so we went to SES and she was deciding between 2 hoodies, ben said purple was nicer and i said red was nicer, ben admitted red was nice after helen wore it so she checked herself in the mirror and bought the red one, i have such good taste :D now when she wears it i can call her little red riding hood hehehehehehehe where is the wolf? :P

see when you go shopping with friends, clothes hold different meaning i think, the decision making process is made by more than one person so it is awesome :D

ummm we then proceeded to woolies where they had sales on junk food - whoops bought more hehehehe i still haven't finished the lindt chocolate i bought before oh well :P more is better right?

well i bought some mi goreng and so did aunty susan so we have 12 packs, not that much i spose...mayve i should have left a pack or 2 in my locker in case someone forgets their lunch or something except its quite hard to eat just in the pack, oh well

so after buying some junk food, we went to the lecture, i didn't end up buying anything from 7 11 in their 3rd dollar day :P not really that many things were for a dollar but i spose enough was :P

umzzzzzz i had a third of an enegry drink and didn't like it anymore so i diluted it in water which made it taste awful..i proceeded to pour it onto a pot plant...hope it doesn't die cos of the pH change.....

umm anyway on to the main topic of the post :P Hiroshi

well before talkiing to him today i had him as the guy who falls asleep in every lecture, for anyone from high school who still follows this, he is like terry :P

so anyway turns out he's from new zealand, plays pokemon cards, spends 500 a month on internet -whoa much? barely studies and has a very strange sleep pattern, from 5pm to 1am...so he doesn't really eat food...omg hahahaha

so we talked or rather, i talked to him for an hour or so before we headed to the lecture.

carol's lecture was alright, she was being really interactive and showing off that she knew a lot of people's names :P

the next guy, harry akers was a funny man, he started off really seriously though - which dug into his time but he gave chocolates for the strangest things, nodding at the right time, falling asleep and asking questions, awesome eh?

I spose that is what happened today oh hong called today as well, she dosn't have keys to get inside her house so she went over to her neighbour's place :P

Tired again!

Well today I was tired like really tired for the first time in a while. That's because i was pretty much flat out today.

So i woke up at 6 40 today and did stuff and didn't have to rush today :D went to the bus stop and caught an early ish bus got there quite early and saw Brisbane Jenny and Silvia looking really tired, they stayed up doing chem and had to wake up early to get to the 8 am start :P

so the lecture i thought was alright, i mean i was only a bit sleepy toward the end :P

so anyway we proceeded to the chem lecture where we didn't sit down for the half hour but rather we went to the awesome chem place and got a test woot, we're so super pro eh?

so the lecture was really really interesting :P well ben and helen blamed me for distracting them all elcture and that i did :D those metal things are awesome, they also were a source of amusement to everyone in the room in the tutorial :D i think i can do the questions anyway, they don't look too hard :D

so then it was 12, had a group chem meeting, yeah so much chem must be good for my health :D, and discussed how we were gonna put the report together :D Matt has done his part i think, he's integrated it all together but referencing will be needed i feel. and also diagramatical evidence.

So after the meeting and after elaine left to go to her workshop - and everyone else in their own direction, I went to get my vaccine for rubella which I have been told by 2 people that it is for girls...well i am clearly not a girl but i got it since it was free...maybe that is why i'm feeling a bit tired, my body is making an immune response to it :d how fitting that we learn about it this morning :D

So after i got my vaccine and waited in the dental surgery for half an hour cos complications arise in that time - whilst watching some music thing and reading lecture notes ineffectively

so then i went on facebook and had a ridiculously slow crappy computer that couldn't really load restaurant city which was a shame, only thing i could do was get some coins and send some gifts :(

then i met irene and signed her passport cos i'm one of very few people who have known her for over a year in brisbane and there i also met her friend Jim and i pretended to know him but everything i said was completely irrelevant

after that i had to rush off to the workshop. in the workshop i got really confuzzled cos i didn't know what was going on in one of the parts :d my confuzzleness extended to kazoullis :D i'm so pro and me making stuff up is awesome cos Jenny said i was really believable which is coolies. anyway by the end i think ben explained to me what i didn't understand in about 2 sentences hahaha

then i caught the bus home at about 430 was home, talked to aunty for half an hour before promptly having a nap for about an hour.


the funny thing about afternoon naps is that they don't really make you feel much better........... so at the moment i am ready to do some work but i'm also tired so yeah i don't know how effective i am. i also don't want to leave everything to the weekend in case something or other pops up.

Oh, ben and helen seem to be addicted to restaurant city :D its cos it has so many more things than stupid cafe world hahahahaha

:D that is sort of in response to Sonya rediscovering my blog and saying that the blog sounds like me, i just thought it would be sort of melodramatic hehe

So anyway, onto my day.

do you remember a couple days ago when i snuck up on jenny? well today i snuck up on elaine :P

cos at the traffic lights, it went and elaine crossed but i was a bit slow so i had to j walk if i wanted to be on time :D so then i snuck up on her like a real ninja hiding on the other side of the road.

so the lecture was alright and elaine made the comment 'i was good, i only slept 5 minutes' well i didn't sleep and that was normal hehehe i thought it was quite a good lecture well the first half hour anyway :P

speaking of falling asleep, gilbert fell asleep during gary's demo of waxing up that was funny. also amos called gary alan so gary called amos gilbert :P

i am sort of getting the hang of waxing and i now realise i really have to take my time when i do cavity preps because althoguht i can get the general shape, things tend to chip of for some reason when you work quickly with the high speed which is stupid -_-

i engaged in a quasi nuclear war with imran today, like in real life, it was a cold war...or rather i missed twice and imran developed a missile defence sytsem, a plastic box :D

ummm it was aunty susan and uncle mark's anniversary today so i got them some cool stuff, spent about $20 heheh that was fun though

getting a bit up the wall with chem but oh well..still gotta print it :D

gotta print 1050 as well eugh

Chem prac

so today was interesting

i got out of the house on time and when i went to the chem lecture i got there just as jenny walked in but i didn't say anything until she was about to sit down :D perhaps i scared her a bit but oh well :P

so then i proceeded to write down what i wanted to do today get vaccinated against rubella, get new safety glasses cos mine are scratched do the chem prelab and read up on the chem prac

well i didn't get vaccinated but i did vote for fresh :D

yeah uq union yeah! that gave me a 5 dollar voucher which i used to help pay for my safety glasses :D

met Jenny's friend Tram whos doing med at unsw, she was nice to talk to :D

ummm went to the prac and that was so boring omg i swear i am gonna do ridiculously badly in this its not funny...perhaps this is what brings my average down to 14...which means i need to get something like 5/20 which is pretty hard :P since i got 4/5 for prelab :D

ummmmzzzzzzz oh after the chem prac, we all went outside and though we were early, we ended up leaving late :P predominantly because we were waiting for 2 girls and we all know how girls are :P

yeah changed my referencing so it was more logical and easy to follow and yeah it should be all good :D

Oops...didi forget to blog yesterday

well if i did i can't be bothered to write a really long one today hahaha

so basically i woke up at like 10 today and then went and helped aunty susan do stuff for 2 hours like make lunch etc and then mum called during lunch so that was a 1 min convo :P

i then did chem for most of the arvo and found out 80% of the assessment is peer assessed...omg how lame they just wanna save money on people lol that's stupid, to think i put effort in this

we went out for dinenr as a sort of anniversary for aunty susan and uncle mark cos it is actually on tuesday but they don't like going out on a weekday :P, time to get a present!

ummmmmmmmmm not much else today i spose...been lazy this weekend, no walks

OH i did my vacuuming so that's done!

So today i did my washing, it was no ordinary load of washing, i also aired my blanket and the lining for the mattress. So i toook a lot of the clothes line :D

i didn't go IKEA with aunty susan and uncle mark because i didn't really feel like it, i don't think i've been shopping with them for a while...will have to go one day

aunty susan also pointed out she hasn't talked to mum in a while so maybe you could call one day when she isn't busy. call me first and see if she is busy haha

so i did chem and read about 12 articles today omg it is really interesting when you come across something you understand or something you need, it sends shivers down my spine :D

i played bejewled for about an hour and a half today and got 700k hehehehhee i'm so awesome!!!!

yeah predominantly doing chem today and some washing, gonna vaccuum tomorrow

Double Prac day

so today we started on two completely different pracs. the first one we had been alluded to earlier and i will have to read up on it by tuesday again but i sort of know what is going on :D this is the wax up where we are trying to replicate the shape of a tooth.

we were exposed to a really neat piece of technology which can make porcelein crowns which would normally take up to 2 weeks in a dental lab and cost hundreds to make into a computer technology that costs about 2 bucks to make...awesome eh? dental technicians are gonna be out of a job soon :P the same startling fact for dentists may be true because technology like this could eventually outphase going to a dentist except for a check up and stuff, a gene has been discovered that is seen to be responsible for caries, scary stuff eh? if that is somehow eliminated then no more holes in teeth :O

anyway back to the prac, we were using the PK Thomas technique of bulding a crown. the idea was the build the crown really well so it fit in the mouth and then take the crown off and make a porcelein model

in the 15 minute break of the 3 hour session chloe and i vs. haowen and imran in foosball. needless to say we got a handicap :D each goal counted as 5. we won 3 times before we had to leave :P i think the last one was at 9-1 or something, it was person who got the last goal won...we didn't finish that game for fear of losing our winning streak :P

so after the first prac, we had lunch. sonya, jenny and ben wanted to go to my prac to practise more...but there weren't enough seats whcih was a shame, they stayed around for a bit but eventually have to leave because there were no seats.

the first cavity prep i took really slowly so that i could get it right...the second one i tried to finish at the same time and ended up mucking it up...need to go slower and follow my outline hahahaha, gonna bring a pencil next time :D that'll make my life much easier

so now i've played with the main types of restorative material, the GIC, composite and the amalgam. all good fun :D everyone should do a year of dentistry for fun :D

ummm the awesome awesome super cool thing was that i remembered to bring back my lab coat so i don't have to go back to the dent school :D:D yayyyyyyyy

so gotta do some chem now and then do some more chem and maybe read up on the wax technique

Recovering

so I have been a little sick like runny nose/blocked nose but i thought i was recovering...you know that feeling when you feel better not tired and good in general, well this morning i felt like that until i heard my voice, very hoarse and raspy, however after breakfast it was all dandy :D

so i went to chem and only found jenny there, everyone else decided not to go :P so i suppose i'm not allowed to tell jenny to come to the monday ones anymore :P

so the rest of the day until 5 pm was pretty normal, well not exactly, lecturer wasn't the normal academic one, he was interactive, spoke about something not technically related :P

anyway after that i went back to uni - used go card 4 times today! and did the chem prac exam...i am pretty sure i did pretty badly :P oh well hope i passed! :D:D it doens't count for anything so yeah its alright!

ummmm had a chicken burger and something from slovaki hut, both were quite good, i may have to go to that shop again for burgers, they're nice :D

ummmm going to read up on some stuff for waxing...gosh need to know everything about everything now!

wednesday, good ol wednesday

so today i out a name to a face, a certain mr matthew sloan

so anyway lets go to the beginning of the day. today i woke up a bit late but was on time leaving the house. i got the the bus station 2 minutes early but the bus didn't come...imran later told me he saw me sitting at the bus stop when his bus came past (it was full)

so i went to the lecture and realised the outside clock was 5 minutes wrong which is hihgly misleading :P it made me think i was really early when i was just on time :P i was however the second person to get in out of us 6 anyway.

so the lecture was pretty good even though i felt tired :P

the new chem lecturer was a bit aggressive i felt and the concepts weren't too difficult so yeah i thought that was alright

hmmm what else... lazed around for a bit, got a sticker for my calculator, got some ice cream, had some japanese curry which was good :D

ummmm boring workshop, i did the presentation again, easy as pie :D this time i knew what i was talking about

2 assessments coming up, 1-mid sem for 1050 35% 2- chem IS IT 12%

ummmmm not too sure when the amalgam exam is going to be but we have to do class 2 amalgams still.

started on the chem one, had a meeting yeah not much else to report mum!

Choose day prac day

well if your didn't get it, the title is tuesday prac day but i said choose cos it sounds like tues :P

anyway today was good, set my alarm an hour instead of 2 hours later :P so i woke at 7 45 instead of 8 45 which was alright cos i stayed in bed til about 8 20 :D got up and just went slow today.

so today i was slow with the amalgam and i went better for it, basically i did everything slowly a. because it was the upper tooth requiring a mirror and b. because i was feeling sluggish which doesn't bode well...

so i did the filling pretty well and i think it is all good :D hope i can replicate it during the exam hehehe then i'll be set!

so after that we did some articulation which i was also slow at and needed to work faster..which i did to varying degrees of success...........meh still got an hour to mount the model. i am more tense about the PK Thomas Wax model that we have to do...gosh its hard...well looks hard anyway...and looks soooo precise ahhhh

watched the video today :P

the campaign for sc2 is so much better than the single player.

The lonely chem lecture...

so today we had a chem lecture and that was all, so 1 hour and that's it. I knew Jenny wasn't coming, she can't be bothered travelling 1.5 hours each way. elaine wasn't going to come - i assume due to laziness? ben wasn't awake and i take it the same applies for helen :P but sonya was there! but she was on the opposite side of the room

the lecture wasn't very good cos i think i already knew it :P but that is besides the point

so afterwards sonya and i went to toowong and i wanted to get ice cream but decided against it in the last minure, so glad i went :D FREEE BOOST for having the name thomas :D:D how awesome is that? sonya didn't get one. the boost did give me a brain freeze though and made me cough a bit.

who cares, it was free :P

ummm bought some highlighters, sharpie ones so they better be good or at least decent, definitely better than coles ones anyway :D:D:D

ummmm after that i went to library which cost me an extra $1 in bus tickets but oh well, read some articles on amalgam and some points about other materials in dentistry, it was alright interesting but i never found out the chemical reaction between composite, GIC and amalgam with the tooth, oh well

got kicked out cos there was a class coming in so i went home. feeling satisfied i'd done work i playedsome games :D

finished hours ago and either going to do some chem or go to bed...the latter seems to be more enticing :D got 33/50 in my prr/fs :D

yeha that's all for now, gotta get he chem, and 1050 stuff done dusted and dead hehehehehehehehe

Helen's birthday

YAY it all over, and it was alll good fun :D:D

so today i woke up early at 8 and got out of bed at 9 deciding to do my washing...then it started pouring...so i didn't think of it. When auntie susan came back she told me tomorrow was going to be terrible, so i did it anyway. when i finished it rained again but luckily for the last time for 10 hours :D

so i got my washing done - i almost overfilled the washing machine with rain water but id idn't and i also cleaned my lab coat which is a plus :D

so i tried to do some chem which didn't work out and had a massive massive lunch...was feeling so sleepy after that

left home at 3 50 and caught a bus and then ben changed the location from king george square to outside woolies so i caught a wasteful bus..the first one was full which sucked :P

so we got there and bought glow sticks and chips, that was an interesting combination -i still have the chips. we then had KFC for dinner at like 5 so it felt like lunch :P but i had a big lunch

we went to an awesome location, not many people at all and i lay there :D it was concrete and not very comfy but yeah it was a good spot...i don't think i've been that close to fireworks before and the jet was insanely cool :D the bridge sucked though -_-

we then arcaded and i am now a VIP of timezone :D sticker photos, guitar, air hockey and some shooting game and DDR - i've lost skill and my feet hurt too quickly...gotta play more in syd :D adam i shall get really good while you are in japan and korea muhahahaha

buses were not fun lets leave it at that. had a shower and have to sort out clothes...this semester seems so much bludgier..hope it stays that way :D

Helen's birthday dinner

Hi so today amongst other things was helen's birthday dinner which was pretty exciting :D

so the morning began at 9 with the tooth morphology exam, which was really easy but i feel i've learnt a lot of tooth morphology and i got 5/5 maybe 4/5 meh good enough

then there was some more amalgam fillings which i feel i am getting better at and i appreciate the need for finger rests :D

ummm oh gary is leaving, he's a funny guy

ummm not much else aside form helen's brithday dinner which i'm too tired to elaborate on...sorry

yeah it was good though, riverfire tomorrow

Lazing about

So i guess there has to be a reason behind every action right? well we were lazing about before the workshop for about 2 hours :D soooo productive :D

annnnyway we had an 8 am start which meant getting up at 7 10 nooo :P

it was a pretty good lecture....i though but elaine and helen both disagreed whilst jenny agreed :D i liked it cos of the topic whilst jenny liked it cos of the lecturer...helen and elaine disliked both :P ben slept in and sonya didn't feel like moving from her seat.

so anyway the chem lecture was terrible in comparison...worse than terrible so bad that i have no idea what is going on at all...well i do but seriously it took an hour to teach something i could learn in 10 minutes -_- and we also had crappy seats...beyond terribly positioned seats.

After that we went to tute...and just ate and talked the whole time, the sheet was pretty useless - time to do it while no one is looking, better to memorise some tooth heights and stuff :D

ummm yeha so gotta learn some morphology and do some chem, nothing new there EXCEPT that sonya reminded us that we havea 35% mid sem in...3 weeks or was it 2? i dunno but it means not much lazing about :D

ok time to draw up a timetable! wooooo something to disobey! :D

anyway because it was an early start and 2 randomly dodgy classes, we were feeling tired, especially after the sun moved and shone on us making us even lazier :D

we practiacally dosed off before class :P but we weren't late. in class i don't know but it feels like we did nothing but i gave the presentation anyway, trying to sound legitimate whilst not really knowing what i was talking about...browsing for about 2 minutes and giving a 2 minute talk is enough :D

got 7.14 out of 10 for my trimmed model which is awesome :D:D aside from the fact ben and helen beat me :P

ummm what else OH Imran came up with a nickname for Jenny which fits with the theme of transport - Jenski hehe, sounds somewhat european i suppose but oh well jetskiis are cool :D
