Today i went for a walk in the park which is next to a creek, i saw an iguana or what i think is an iguana, it was a retilian creature in any case :D i walked across 2 bridges and into a dark alley :D
it is a nice place but the water for some reasons goes from clear about 1 km away to a bracking gross dark colour haha.
there are these super hard seed pods which hang down from the tree and there is a scounts building and a childcare centre :D
The bike path looks nice and i found out i am 40 minutes walk from the university, niiiiice (i also know how to walk there) :D
its been sprinkling and then stop sprinkling then sprinkling so it is super hard to do the washing...goog thing i did it on friday :D
oh there is apparently a tsunami soon, i dunno they evacuated people from surfer's paradise which is a really nice beach (apparently whitsundays is too - i have an aunt there! [200km away] - the sand is supposedly white :D)
I shouldn't be affected by the tsunami cos i live like 70km away. Its been on the radio and leon warned me, THANKS leon!
i am too drowsy when i read the bio textbook...nothing goes in :P
i'm quite close to a lot of things so its all good :D must learn the area, will need a bike :D
uni tomorrow! should be good

Its been about 1 and a half weeks
One and a half weeks man!
I'm settling down, i know where i am going to live for the most part of 5 years, i've got food, and internet and hopefully money :D
There are so many unexpected things when you move, even if it is only from nsw to qld.
e.g. i have no transport! aside from the public kind, which is horrible!!
I'm relying on this family a lot haha which can be a bit intimidating since i've only known them for like a week :P
University is also not easy, with NSW I had an image of each university in my head...here NOPE! all new
I can't go out - aside from lack of transport and friends, i don't know where to go...aside from the beach hahaha which i don't know how to get to by the way :D
So i guess amidst all this confusion, i kinda had to sit down and think...What am i gonna do? The answer came fast, work it out :D
So i have been out, to the beach, to university getting to know the place a bit better...THEN I MOVED hahaha!! so guess what, all new again but its alright!!
Atm it is raining. it rains a lot here...also lots of construction.
Shopping is ok and me staying in my room is reminiscent of anti social behaviour haha.
the buses here are HEAPS better than nsw but the trains are tiny in comparison, about 300 people per train....they only have one level and no such thing as three seaters :P
Brisbane is so much smaller than sydney....10 minutes out of the city and there are big plots of land, like 1000 metres squared :P
The actual campus is super pretty........there are three lakes at UQ and there are ducks haha and other wildlife which i cannot identify...until i finsih my biology :D
There are lots of old buildings but at the same time, lots of new ones! again with the construction. There is heaps of grass:D pretty different from uts eh?
Oh there is also a rivalry between unis :P
UQ is the best - comparable with unsw or usyd (prestige), then ther eis griffith, comparable to UWS (low cut offs :P) and then there is QUT comparable with UTS (both with technology)
turned down the international house offer, despite the possibility of getting an international girlsfriend :P -think of the call costs man! the rooms were to small and i didn't think it was worth the 400 a week.....
brisbane river is everywhere and there are lots of bridges!
Mum knew quite a few people here and here i discovered her real age :P from her friends of course :P
i've met the other dental kids but not really talked to them much guess that is for uni to say, i'll work it out.
Well not much to say aside from i live in a 2 storey building with 2 other people in a house with lots of land and is close to the city!
Peace out,
Thomas
